Paystack Setup Methods

Important to Note:

While anyone can setup Paystack, only Businesses in Live Mode (businesses who have submitted an activation request and are live) can accept real payments. Businesses who have not been approved to go live will only be able to make test payments.

Follow this link to learn how to activate your business on Paystack.

There are multiple ways by which you can get paid through Paystack, depending on the level of customization you want and the technical resources at your disposal:

  • Setup methods that require no technical knowledge:
    • Payment Pages
    • Paystack Invoices
    • Some plugins (e.g Wordpress)
  • Setup methods that require software development:
    • API
    • Libraries / SDKs
    • Plugins

Paystack Payment Pages

This is perfect for non-developers. A Payment Page is a link to a simple form that you can send to customers, through which they can pay you. You don't need to have your own website or app to set up a Payment Page.

To set up a Payment Page, log into your Paystack account and go to this page. You can find more detailed information about setting up Payment Pages here.

Paystack Invoices

The Paystack Invoices feature allows you to quickly send a request for payment to a particular person, or a group of people. Once the person who owes you receives the Paystack Invoice, they'll be able to pay you quickly in only a few clicks.

To set up an Invoice, log into your Paystack account and go to this page for instructions. You can also find more detailed steps to setting up a Paystack Invoice here.

Plugins are used when integrating Paystack with third-party platforms such as Wordpress, Shopify, Magento, and many others.

API/SDK Libraries

Developers have numerous tools with which to integrate Paystack. See our Libraries page.
