Issues with One Time Passwords (OTP)

OTP (one-time password) is security information that a customer might need to provide in order to complete a payment. OTP helps keep the customer's account safe from unauthorised transactions.

OTPs for transactions are not issued by Paystack. Instead, they're issued entirely by the customers' bank. On rare occasions, customers might run into OTP issues such as:

  • OTP sent to the incorrect number
  • OTP arriving late 
  • OTP never arriving

In all these scenarios, the customer will need to try again or contact their bank to get the issue resolved if it persists.
